Humane Society of Marathon County appreciates the time and help
our members and volunteers provide for the animals and shelter needs.
Our
only requirement is that all volunteers must be at least 16 years
old.

ANIMAL INFORMATION BOOTH VOLUNTEER |
| When Needed: |
1st and 2nd Saturday of Each Month |
Position Responsibilities: |
One or two individuals to work Marathon Town & Country (1st Saturday) and Petco (2nd Saturday) of each month. Bring a pet, speak to the public and hand out literature.
Timing: Approx. 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. |

Transportation.
Pick up pet(s) at shelter along with display materials needed at booth. |

Dish washer/laundry help |
| When Needed: |
Mornings - week days and weekends |
Position Responsibilities: |
Wash dog and cat food dishes and litter pans.
Keep laundry going in washers and dryers and fold when dried. |

Support person to kennel people who need to spend time with the dogs and cats. Clean dishes and bedding prevents the spread of germs and disease.

Position Responsibilities: |
We need volunteers to meet and greet all visitors to the HSMC during public hours. Direct visitors to proper areas and staff and answer general questions. |

People Friendly, customer service experience a plus, willingness to be a part of our marketing team by making visitors feel welcomed, ensuring a pleasant experience for all. |

Greeters will help ensure a pleasant experience for all visitors by welcoming guests, directing them to appropriate areas and staff and answering general questions. Positive customer experience is important to HSMC. We are so busy at the new site, a greeter will aid staff and allow them to concentrate on pet care. Greeters will be the front line and will set the tone for visitors to experience the friendly atmosphere of the HSMC.

Volunteer - Animal Caretaker |
| When Needed: |
Any days Monday through Saturday between the hours of 8:30 and 4:30. |
Position Responsibilities: |
Cut toenails, clean ears, brush, comb and bath animals.
Minimum Age: 16 - Must have parental permission slip signed if under the age of 18. |

Help the animals look and feel their very best to potential adopters. Animals will be healthier and happier prepare animals going to their new home. Prefer some experience handling animals. Some animals' disposition are questionable.

Volunteer - Assistant Cleaner |
| When Needed: |
Any days-Monday through Saturday from 8:30 until 11:30. |
Position Responsibilities: |
Assist with miscellaneous cleaning duties.Examples of work involved: Sweep and mop lobby,
office visitation room, and bathroom. Empty trash cans. Wash windows. Wash counters and desks.
Dust wash and dry dishes. Do laundry. Clean bathroom fixtures. Feed rodents and clean their cages.
Fill dog food bowls. Fill food and litter containers. Clean house cats litter pans. |

Volunteer - Customer Greeter |
| When Needed: |
Any day, Monday through Friday, between 12:30 and 4:30. Saturday, any hours, between 12:00 and 4:30 |
Position Responsibilities: |
Greet customers when they enter the shelter. Direct their questions to staff members. Assure that no animals enter the lobby without staff approval. |

Volunteer - Dog Walker |
| When Needed: |
Any days Monday through Saturday between the hours of Noon and 4:30. |
Position Responsibilities: |
Walk Shelter dogs for exercise and fresh air.
Note: Some dogs' personality is not known when they come into Shelter. Caution needs to be taken when handling these dogs. Highly suggested that a certain amount of maturity is needed. Not recommend walking two dogs together whose personality is unknown.
Minimum Age: 16 - Must have parental permission slip signed if under the age of 18. |

Decorate and distribute cans around town for donations. Keep track of where cans are located. Pick cans up when full and bring to shelter. |

Volunteer - Food Run |

Every Wednesday Morning, 9:00am Until 11:30 |
Position Responsibilities: |
Go to designated donor stores and pick up donations. |

Van or Pick up and ability to do some heavy lifting. |
