ADOPT A SENIOR PET MONTH
November 9, 2008
"No Time To Teach New Tricks? Adopt a Senior Pet!"

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and Petfinder.com celebrate November as Adopt-a-Senior-Pet Month. The upcoming holiday season may be an excellent time to put some balance in your life and adopt a senior pet. Senior pets can and do bond very strongly with adopters. Many seem to understand they have been given another chance at a happy life and are grateful for the opportunity to love someone and be loved in return.

Welcome New Volunteer - Volunteer Coordinator
November 3, 2008
HSMC has our first-ever volunteer, Volunteer Coordinator. We are pleased welcome Terry Carroll to that position. Terry is a long-time HSMC volunteer and animal lover who recently retired. With a little more time on her hands, we were pleased that she accepted our invitation to help develop our new volunteer program - Pet Pals.

Terry will be coordinating volunteer applications, setting-up volunteer trainings, meeting, and scheduling of events that need volunteer participation. We will be updating our files and developing a data base with all of our volunteers outlining special gifts & talents, times available, types of volunteer experiences you are interested in and providing training opportunities. Our goal is to have 1,000 volunteers and Friends by 2010!

Volunteers are the backbone of HSMC! We could not exist without these very special people who give of their time & talents.

To be a Pet Pal volunteer, please contact Terry by email at jcar620558@aol.com. Or contact HSMC by phone at 845-2810 or by email at info@catsndogs.org
