The Humane Society of Marathon County is a NON-PROFIT organization and relies on YOU to stay in business. We welcome donations of many kinds. Below is a list of things we could use now. Consider it our Wish List. Our needs are constantly changing so please check back here or call for a list of most needed items.

Snow Blower - Needed Now!
        Winter is HERE and we need a snow blower in good working condition to help clear our walkways so customers and volunteers can get in and our dogs and their "walkers" can get out!
Recycle Your Aluminum Cans - Needed Now!
        Please rinse and crush cans. In addition to dropping your aluminum cans off at the Shelter, cans can now be dropped off directly at the following locations:
Wausau Steel, 2900 W. Sherman, Wausau
Cousineau Auto, 6702 Ryan St., Weston
Yaeger Auto Salvage, 8205 Camp Phillips Rd. in Weston
Please put your cans in plastic bags; paper disintegrates when wet.
The money from the Paws to Recycle program is used to purchase medication for the animals as well as spaying and neutering. Thank you for your continued support of this very worthwhile program.
Paper Toweling - Needed Now!
        WE DO NOT NEED PAPER TOWELING AT THIS TIME. THE COMMUNITY HAS BEEN VERY GENEROUS! We use a lot of paper toweling at the Shelter daily. Staff is always washing their hands to prevent the spread of germs.
Newspapers - Needed Now!
        We need full-sized (not the shoppers) newspapers to line our cat kennels.
Money - Needed Now!
        Any amount is appreciated.
Kitty Litter - Needed Now!
        We're happy to accept donations of kitty litter - and the kitties are happy too!
Kitten Chow - Needed Now!
        We have enough Adult Cat Food but we could really use contributions of food for kittens.
Donations to complete the New Building - Needed Now!
        Thanks to the community for making our new home a reality! There are still several areas that need your help: outdoor fenced play area, sound baffles for kennel area, 4-wheel drive truck for humane officers, mini van for transport, snow blower, riding lawn mower.

        Urgent! Dog waste bags, very small trash liner bags or used plastic grocery bags.


"Scooby" Snacks - Needed Now!
        We have enough Adult dog food right now. The dogs here really enjoy a treat though!
Vinyl Puppy Toys
        Gently used, clean toys are ok too!
Rodent Food
        You've heard the expression - they eat like a mouse? Well, even mice and other rodents in our care need to eat too!
Postage Stamps
        These always come in handy at the Shelter.
Liquid Laundry Detergent
        We use this to wash the bedding for the animals that are staying with us.
